Ne pozabite na 5. predavanje iz sklopa »Kolokviji IJS« v akademskem letu 2025/26, ki bo DANES, 14. januarja 2026, ob 13:00 v Veliki predavalnici Instituta »Jožef Stefan« na Jamovi cesti 39 v Ljubljani. Predavanje bo v slovenščini. Na voljo bodo kava, pijača in prigrizki.
Od debeloplastnih struktur do pametnih naprav

Plasti funkcionalnih materialov debeline nekaj deset mikrometrov omogočajo številne uporabne funkcije, kot so pretvorba in shranjevanje energije, zaznavanje dražljajev iz okolja ali nadzor in ojačitev električnih signalov. Zaradi teh lastnosti so nepogrešljive v elektronskih napravah, kot so senzorji, pretvorniki, sončne celice, zasloni in baterije. Izdelava plasti je zapletena in vključuje pripravo suspenzije funkcionalnega materiala, njen nanos na podlago in utrjevanje, običajno pri povišani temperaturi. V predavanju bom predstavila pristop k pripravi dvostranske strukture piezoelektrika na fleksibilni podlagi za zbiranje energije. Predstavila bom izzive za nanos materiala enakomerne debeline na obe strani keramične podlage ter opisala smernice za pripravo homogene mikrostrukture s sintranjem. V nadaljevanju bom prikazala pripravo miniaturnih integriranih elektrokemijskih senzorjev, s poudarkom na pripravi senzorske plasti iz ogljikovih materialov. Predstavitev bom zaključila s prikazom uporabe razvitih senzorjev za zaznavanje pesticidov v vodi, kar je obetavno za spremljanje stanja okolja.
O predavateljici: Danjela Kuščer je znanstvena svetnica na Institutu »Jožef Stefan« in izredna profesorica na Mednarodni podiplomski šoli Jožefa Stefana v Ljubljani.

>From thick-film structures to smart devices

Layers of functional materials with thicknesses of several tens of micrometres enable a wide range of useful functions, such as energy conversion and storage, sensing of environmental stimuli, and control or amplification of electrical signals. Due to these properties, they are indispensable components of electronic devices, including sensors, transducers, solar cells, displays, and batteries. The fabrication of such layers is complex and involves the preparation of a suspension of the functional material, its deposition onto a substrate, and subsequent curing, typically at elevated temperatures. In this talk, I will present an approach for preparing a piezoelectric bimorph structure on a flexible substrate for energy harvesting. I will discuss the challenges of depositing layers of uniform thickness on both sides of a ceramic substrate and outline guidelines for achieving a homogeneous microstructure through sintering. I will then demonstrate the fabrication of miniature integrated electrochemical sensors, with an emphasis on forming the sensing layer from carbon-based materials. The presentation will conclude with an example of using the developed sensors to detect pesticides in water, a promising approach for environmental monitoring.
About the lecturer: Danjela Kuščer is a scientific councilor at the Jožef Stefan Institute and an associate professor at the Jožef Stefan International Postgraduate School in Ljubljana.
