G. Vasle je z navdušenjem sodeloval pri zbiranju spominskih in
folklornih pripovedi za južnoameriško knjigo v zbirki Glasovi (ur. M.
Stanonik) - ne le preko obveščanja in pridobivanja pripovedovalcev z
osebnimi stiki in preko oddaje Okence v Slovenijo, pač pa tudi kot
iskriv pripovedovalec. Nazadnje sva bila v stiku konec maja, ko sem mu
sporočila, da so transkripcije, okoli 1000 enot zgodb argentinskih
Slovencev, zaključene. Iskreno se je veselil kratkoročnega izida
knjige, sam pa je poročal o svojih številnih načrtih za jesenski obisk
v Sloveniji. Novica o nenadnem slovesu je prišla iznenada in me je
pretresla. Za njim ostaja velika praznina ne le v slovenski skupnosti
v Argentini, pač pa tudi med številnimi prijatelji, ki jih je imel v
Sloveniji. Mirko, pogrešali Te bomo!

Michael Sperberg-McQueen (1954–2024;

utemeljitelj in ključna osebnost TEI (Text Encoding Initiative). Na
forumu Humanist (https://www.dhhumanist.org/volume/38/103/ in
https://www.dhhumanist.org/volume/38/104/) so objavljeni topli spomini
kolegov nanj. Pred leti se je sočutno odzval na moje poročilo o
diskriminaciji cirilice s strani indeksirne hiše Elsevier
(https://sl.wikiversity.org/wiki/Indexing_problems_with_non_Latin_scripts).
Ker arhiv Humanista prav za to leto še manjka, pismo pokojnika

'prazen'). A.Word.A.Day 19. 8. 2024. – Ustreznega pridevnika
evanescenten v slovenskem slovarju ni, je pa v Vorenčevem slovarju
(1703–1710) beseda evanescentia 'zginjenje', 'ṡginenîe'.
