SYSTEM MEDICINE
DISEASE PATHWAYS FOR PERSONALISED TREATMENTS
_VIRTUAL SPRING SEMINAR SERIES 2020_
The last decades have presented us with novel technologies enabling us
to look deep into the human genome of each individual, to screen for
numerous metabolites in the blood, to search organs by imaging
techniques, and much more. However, the technological and information
revolutions now have to be translated into the clinical practice to make
personalized medicine possible. Systems medicine will fill this void by
advancing our understanding of disease mechanisms and to boost the
efficacy of treatments. Ultimately, these trends towards a more
personalised approach may radically change the interaction between
patients, doctors and other healthcare professionals. This is an urging
need, even accelerated in the Covid-19 era.
With this in mind we have initiated a VIRTUAL SPRING SEMINAR SERIES TO
BRING TOGETHER experts from all over the world to share their systems
medicine experiences of today which will be the visions of the future.
