Vabimo vas na 9. predavanje iz sklopa »Kolokviji na IJS« v akademskem letu 2025/26, ki bo v sredo, 8. aprila 2026, ob 13:00 v Veliki predavalnici Instituta »Jožef Stefan« na Jamovi cesti 39 v Ljubljani. Predavanje bo v slovenščini. Na voljo bodo kava, pijača in prigrizki.

 

 

Razumevanje elektrokemijskih sistemov: hitra impedančna spektroskopija, verjetnostna diagnostika in analiza s pomočjo umetne inteligence

Baterije in gorivne celice so ključne za prehod na trajnostno energijo, a razumevanje njihovega notranjega delovanja ostaja zahtevno. Elektrokemijska impedančna spektroskopija je uveljavljena metoda za proučevanje teh sistemov, vendar so klasične meritve počasne in neprimerne za dinamične pogoje. V predavanju bom predstavil FastEIS, hiter merilni pristop, ki temelji na stohastičnem širokopasovnem vzbujanju in omogoča sočasno zajemanje celotnega frekvenčnega spektra. Razvili smo okvir za kvantifikacijo negotovosti z uporabo divergenčnih mer za robustno diagnostiko stanja. Za boljše fizikalno razumevanje impedančnih podatkov smo uporabili analizo z neuravnoteženim optimalnim transportom. Predavanje bom zaključil s predstavitvijo transformerske arhitekture, naučene na podlagi obsežnih sintetičnih podatkov. To je univerzalno orodje, uporabno za različne elektrokemijske sisteme brez potrebe po sistemsko specifični parametrizaciji.

 

O predavatelju: Pavle Boškoski je znanstveni svetnik na Institutu »Jožef Stefan« in izredni profesor na Fakulteti za informacijske študije v Novem mestu. Leta 2017 je skupaj s sodelavci prejel Puhovo priznanje za prilagodljiv sistem za nadzor kakovosti puhal in sledenje proizvodnje.

Decoding electrochemical systems: fast impedance spectroscopy, probabilistic diagnostics, and AI-driven analysis

Batteries and fuel cells are essential for the transition towards sustainable energy, yet understanding their internal behavior remains challenging. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy is an established method for studying these systems, but conventional measurements are slow and unsuitable for dynamic conditions. In this talk, I will present FastEIS, a rapid measurement approach based on stochastic broadband excitation that enables simultaneous acquisition of the full frequency spectrum. We have developed an uncertainty quantification framework that uses divergence measures for robust state diagnostics. To achieve a clearer physical understanding of the impedance data, we have used unbalanced optimal transport analysis. I will conclude by presenting a transformer architecture trained on extensive synthetic datasets. This universal tool is applicable across diverse electrochemical systems without the need for system‑specific parameterization.

 

About the lecturer: Pavle Boškoski is a scientific councilor at the Jožef Stefan Institute and an associate professor at the Faculty of Information Studies in Novo Mesto. In 2017, he and his colleagues received the Puh Award for a flexible system for blower quality control and production tracking.
