Vabimo vas na 13. predavanje iz sklopa »Kolokviji na IJS« v akademskem letu 2024/25, ki bo DANES, v ponedeljek, 16. junija 2025, ob 13:00 v Veliki predavalnici Instituta »Jožef Stefan« na Jamovi cesti 39 v Ljubljani. Predavanje bo v angleščini. Na voljo bodo kava, pijača in prigrizki.

 

 

Mucinomika kot naslednji mejnik masne sprektrometrije

Glikoproteini z mucinsko domeno so močno O-glikozilirani in igrajo ključno vlogo pri številnih bioloških funkcijah. Vendar pa njihova močna O-glikozilacija ni povsem pojasnjena, tako z vidika glikoproteomike kot z vidika strukturne dinamike, predvsem zaradi izzivov, povezanih s proučevanjem mucinskih domen. V predavanju bom predstavila napredek v masni spektrometrični analizi mucinov, vključno s karakterizacijo mucinaz, tehnikami obogatitve in popolnim mucinomskim kartiranjem translacijsko pomembnih mucinskih proteinov.

 

O predavateljici: Stacy Malaker je docentka na Oddelku za kemijo Univerze Yale. Je prejemnica več nagrad, med drugim nagrade Chemistry Biology Interface Division Horizon Prize Kraljeve družbe za kemijo.

Mucinomics as the next frontier of mass spectrometry

Mucin-domain glycoproteins are densely O-glycosylated and play key roles in a host of biological functions. However, their dense O-glycosylation remains enigmatic both in glycoproteomic landscape and structural dynamics, primarily due to the challenges associated with studying mucin domains. In this talk, I will present advances in the mass spectrometric analysis of mucins, including the characterization of mucinases, enrichment techniques, and complete mucinomic mapping of translationally relevant mucin proteins.

 

 

About the lecturer: Stacy Malaker is an assistant professor in the Department of Chemistry at Yale University. She is the recipient of several awards, among them of the Chemistry Biology Interface Division Horizon Prize of the Royal Society for Chemistry.
