Ne pozabite na 12. predavanje iz sklopa >Kolokviji na IJS< v akademskem letu
2024/25, ki bo DANES, v torek, 27. maja 2024, ob 15:00 izjemoma v Veliki
fizikalni predavalnici (Peterlinov paviljon) Fakultete za matematiko in
fiziko Univerze v Ljubljani, Jadranska cesta 26, Ljubljana. Predavanje bo v
angleščini. 

 

 

Atosekundni svetlobni sunki za proučevanje dinamike elektronov

Ko močna laserska svetloba interagira s plinom atomov, nastanejo harmoniki
višjega reda, ki v časovni domeni tvorijo niz izjemno kratkih svetlobnih
sunkov z dolžino reda velikosti 100 atosekund. Ti atosekundni sunki
omogočajo proučevanje dinamike elektronov v atomih in molekulah z uporabo
črpalno-bralnih tehnik. V predavanju bodo izpostavljeni nekateri ključni
koraki na področju atosekundne znanosti, od tvorbe harmonikov višjega reda
do merjenja atosekundnih sunkov. Predstavljena bo tudi uporaba atosekundnih
sunkov v atomski spektroskopiji.

 

O predavateljici: Anne L'Huillier je profesorica atomske fizike na Univerzi
v Lundu in članica Kraljeve švedske akademije znanosti. Je prejemnica
Nobelove nagrade za fiziko leta 2023 in Wolfove nagrade za fiziko leta 2022.

2025, at 3:00 PM exceptionally in the Large physics lecture hall (Peterlin
Pavilion) of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, University of

Attosecond light pulses for studying electron dynamics

When an intense laser light interacts with a gas of atoms, high-order
harmonics are generated. In the time domain, this radiation forms a train of
extremely short light pulses, of length of the order of 100 attoseconds.
These attosecond pulses enable the study of electron dynamics in atoms and
molecules using pump-probe techniques. This presentation will highlight some
of the key steps in the field of attosecond science, starting with the
generation of high-order harmonics and continuing with the measurement of
attosecond pulses. Applications in atomic spectroscopy will be presented.

 

About the lecturer: Anne L'Huillier is professor of atomic physics at Lund
University and a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. She is the
recipient of the Nobel prize in physics in 2023 and the Wolf prize in
physics in 2022.
