Zaključil bom s predstavitvijo in razpravo o njihovih lastnostih zaznavanja plinov in ustreznih mehanizmih.

Gas sensors based on transition metal dichalgogenides

Year by year, gas sensors have shown tremendous developments in terms of sensing materials, size, power consumption and fabrication costs. They are becoming indispensable items in the monitoring of indoor and outdoor toxic gases, and thus play an increasing role in environmental monitoring, air quality control and in safety and security applications. Recently, two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) have been identified as gas-sensitive nanomaterials worth exploring. In this lecture I will report the bottom-up synthesis of pure and metal oxide loaded TMDs, present the study of their morphology and composition, and discuss their integration into chemo-resistive devices. I will finalise by presenting and discussing their gas sensing properties and corresponding mechanisms.

About the lecturer: Eduard Llobet Valero has been a full professor at the University of Tarragona since 2009. He is the president of the Spanish network for nanotechnology and microsystems (IBERNAM) and has been the recipient of the ICREA Academia Award (2012 and 2018) from the Catalan Institution for Research and Advanced Studies (ICREA).
