Lepo vabljeni!

High-Performance Computing in the Time of Uncertainty
More than ever computers hold the promise of enhancing our cognitive capacity to solve complex problems. Our generation has access to extraordinary computing technologies and unprecedented information for a wide range of physical systems. At the same time we are faced with the challenges of effectively using these technologies for the proper integration of data and first principles in the simulation of complex systems. We will discuss our efforts to harness massively parallel computing architectures and emphasize the need for the data-driven quantification of uncertainties in simulations. The lessons learned will be discussed in the context of applications ranging from fish swimming and cavitation to the flows of blood in microfluidics channels and water in carbon nanotubes.
Cordially invited!
