Italija v vesolju

 

Italija je že vse od leta 1960 veliko vlagala v raziskave vesolja. Bila je
prva evropska in tretja država na svetu, ki je izstrelila svoj satelit. Bila
je tudi ena od ustanoviteljic in je trenutno tudi ena od največjih
financerjev Evropske vesoljske agencije (ESA). ASI je vladna agencija
ustanovljena leta 1988 za promocijo, razvoj in razširjanje znanstvenega in
tehnološkega razvoja na področju vesoljskih tehnologij, opazovanju Zemlje,
telekomunikacij ter navigacije, mikrogravitacije in izobraževanja. Zelo
pomemben je prispevek za Mednarodno vesoljsko postajo, za katero so pomemben
del orbitalne platforme zgradili prav v Italiji.

Italy in Space

 

Italy has been making important investments in space since 1960s. The first
European country, the third in the world, to launch scientific satellites,
Italy was one of the founding countries of the European Space Agency (1975)
and now it is the third contributor to ESA (European Space Agency).
Established in 1988, ASI is a Governmental Agency for promotion, development
and diffusion of scientific and technological research in the fields of
space and aerospace, as scientific observation and exploration of the
universe, earth observation, telecommunications and navigation, microgravity
and education. Important is the contribution to the International space
station, where a relevant part of the habitable volume of the orbiting
platform has been mainly built in Italy.
