"Nevtrini: odkrivanje sveta nove fizike"


Obstoj nevtrinskih mas in mešalnih kotov je eno večjih odkritij zadnjih let na področju fizike osnovnih delcev. Neničelne mase nevtrinov štejemo kot prvi neposredni dokaz fizike izven standardnega modela. Obravnavali bomo tako fenomenološke posledice, kakor tudi vpliv na fundamentalno teorijo, ki jih prinaša to odkritje. Orisali bomo bodoče raziskovalne smeri in možen razvoj nevtrinske tehnologije.

"Neutrinos: Discovering a New Physics World''

The discovery of neutrino mass and mixing is one of the major discoveries in particle physics in the recent years. Non-zero neutrino masses and mixing are considered as the first direct evidence of new physics beyond the Standard model. Phenomenological consequences of this discovery as well as possible implications for fundamental theory will be discussed. Future programs of research and possible developments of the neutrino technologies will be outlined.

 

The lecture will be given in English.
