* Description *

 

The concepts of information society, information era, infosphere and
infostress have by now been widely accepted. But what does it really mean
for the society, science, technology, education, governments, our lives? The
Information Society multiconference deals with information technologies,
which are of major importance for the development of Europe. IS 2013 will
serve as a forum for the world-wide and national community to explore
further research directions, business opportunities and governmental
policies. For these reasons we host a scientific meeting in the form of a
multiconference, which will consist of several independent conferences with
themes essential for the development of the information society. The main
objective is the exchange of ideas and developing visions for the future of
information society. IS 2013 is a high-quality multidisciplinary conference
covering major recent scientific achievements.

* Submission and dates *

 

Submitted papers must be original and not currently under review by another
conference or journal. They should be within the multiconference topics and
preferably not too technical.

 

Relevant paper submission deadlines:

  * Data Mining and Data Warehouses (SiKDD 2012) - 31 August 2013

  * Facing Demographic Challenges - 5 September 2013

  * Human-Computer Interaction in Information Society - 5 September 2013

  * Cognitive Sciences - 5 September 2013

  * Intelligent Systems - 9 September 2013

 

The papers can be in English or in Slovene, depending on the conference, and
should be up to four pages long in most cases. An example paper can be

* Registration *

 

At least one author of each paper should register to the conference.
Registration shall be made not later than 23 September 2013 here:
http://is.ijs.si/is/is2012/prijava_eng.asp?lang=eng.

 

Registration fee: 100 EUR / 50 EUR for students. Education in Information
Society and MATCOS are free of charge, but the participants do not receive
the complete conference materials. Registration fee after 23 September 2013
(including on site) is 10 EUR higher.

 

The regular registration fee includes electronic proceedings on a USB flash
drive and a gift. Student fee includes electronic proceedings on a smaller
USB flash drive and a gift. Both types of registration fee include
refreshments during breaks and other social activities. Visitors have free
entry to all conferences.
