Dear colleague,

I am writing to you on behalf of the organizing committee of the next 
FIEC Congress, which will be held in Berlin from Aug. 24 till Aug. 29, 2009.

This congress should constitute an opportunity for scholars from all 
over the world to share their views on classical Antiquity. We are 
aiming for diversity and openness. The organizing committee has invited 
a number of guest speakers from various countries. We have noticed, 
however, that some areas of the world are underrepresented in the list 
of proposals for papers. Could I ask you to remind the members of your 
society that they have an opportunity to join us in Berlin and give a 
paper ?

congres de la FIEC, qui se tiendra a Berlin du 24 au 29 aout 2009.

Ce congres devrait réunir des savants venus du monde entier pour 
partager leurs points de vue sur l'Antiquité classique. Nous cherchons a 
favoriser a la fois la diversité et l'ouverture. Le comité 
d'organisation a invité un certain nombre d'orateurs et d'oratrices en 
provenance de nombreux pays. Nous avons toutefois constaté que certaines 
parties du monde sont sous-représentées dans la liste des propositions 
d'exposés. Pourrais-je vous demander de rappeler aux membres de votre 
association qu'ils ont la possibilité de se joindre a nous a Berlin et 
de donner un exposé ?
