Najprej bo predstavljena njihova uporaba pri določanju geografskega porekla in potvorjenosti živil ter pri raziskavah različnih ekosistemov. Drugi del pa bo namenjen predstavitvi uporabe težjih stabilnih izotopov elementov v okolju s poudarkom na živem srebru.
